I almost this good.
We live in Appleland over here. We just noticed Hyperbole is looking a little funky right now on Explorer and Firefox on PCs. We will make it look as pretty as it does on a Mac real soon. We hope.
Through an admired past teacher, Juliet Shen, and her type explorations at Reading University, I’ve been introduced to the work and studies of Daniel Rhatigan. Most recently I have enjoyed watching his progress on the development of a new typeface, Gina. As a designer who is ever tempting the idea of running off to educate myself in the ways of type design, it has been interesting having a view into both his life as a graduate student and the process that is behind the development of a type family. Newly released is the family’s pdf specimen, a beauty to behold, and an in depth story behind the design on Daniel’s blog.
Like many young Americans who travel overseas for an extended period of time, Mikey has found his true self in the form of an Italian whore. Snaps for the work with the electric blue eyeliner, Cianch. We must discuss your techniques.
Our little corner of the world has been changing a lot over the last decade. To think that 25 years ago it was lined with strip joints and Italian social clubs. The New York Times looks at the ups and downs of gentrification.
Interesting article in the New York Times city section this sunday about individuals who explore the forgotten and off limit areas of the city. It discusses several of these individuals and mentions there websites in which they post images of there “discoveries”, which can be found here, here, here, here and here. The aricle also has an audio slide show of Miru Kim and here work, which includes the image below.
Wow. Pretty nice if this is the real deal. Check it out at AppleInsider.

M.I.A. finally got let back into the United States of Brooklyn last week after being denied an entry visa for a few years due to the political nature of her lyrics (we’ve actually been working on a project for the ACLU about Ideological Exclusions from the USA, so we’ve been hearing all about the visa issues). Ampy and I caught her show at Studio B in Greenpoint and it was brilliant! The new album, Kala, which comes out in about 3 weeks is sure to salt and pepper our mangos. There’s a bollywoodesque disco track on it that’s sure to make you shake it.
