30 Minutes With Barack

For many, seems like their idea of heaven. For some, the word ‘infomercial’ can conjure up bad memories of Deion Sanders’ Hot Dog Express (shiver), no matter who it is. Fortunately, Obama has utilized his usual top-notch (and well-paid, no doubt) band of talented party peeps for a well-produced ’special’ on how the Dem’s top guy is everyone’s top guy. Check it out.

Oh, and if you’re feeling a little need for some Billy Mays magic, knock yourself out with some Oxy-strength gansta rap.

What Halloween Should Be

These may be the best Halloween costumes I’ve seen. Bag full o’ cute. I vouch for the photo below first, but “Princess Leia and Jedi” comes in a close second.

A stunning image from the portfolio of the late designer Lou Dorfsman. In memory, Speak Up has written this lovely article.

Wassup, 8 Years Later…

Yes, the same doods that brought about a cultural phenomenon loved the world over by men from all walks of life have revisited the ad campaign to theorize where these (cheap) beer-guzzing, fun-loving, catch-phrase-spreading guys are today, eight years after…well, you know. Check it out.

Free Poster Friends

Our free printable Obama posters continue to make their rounds throughout the land, spreading its message of Hope and of cool stuff that is free. Lindsey is one of the latest to spread this message, proudly displaying our artwork in her window. Thanks for the flickr love, Lindsey! Nice flickr, btw. I never knew Akron could be so lovely. Maybe there’s hope for that swing-y state, after all.
PS: Some more cool stuff by Lindsey: her photo site, fivetwofive and her ‘day job’ craftershock.

Obama Party People

A few weeks back, Amy Searight from the Asia policy advisory group for Obama, contacted us to send some of our Hope posters to their event in Washington, D.C. In return, she promised to try and get some pix for us of one or two Obama peeps in front of our posters. Well, after the event, she sent over these little gems of all the major players of the night in front of artwork by yours truly. Amy, you rule!

L-R Obama Asia advisory group party: Jeffrey Bader, chief Asia policy advisor for Obama; Mona Sutphen, ’sort-of’ deputy chief to Bader; Richard Danzig, one of Obama’s key foreign policy advisors; and Matthew Goodman, Asia team member and host of the event.

According to Amy, the event raised over $70K (!!) for the Obama campaign. Our posters were raffled to two guests, who were thrilled – they were both Asia team policy advisors.

Hope On Draft

Sean Hagerty took full advantage of our free printable Obama posters at a fundraising event for ‘Obama For America’ at R bar in NYC recently. We always suspected our artwork would work best near a fully-stocked bar, but I’m not so sure. Julia rocks the Hope poster pretty well, too.

Yes We Carve

Grassroots political participation has never been more fun. My friend Jason Powers is part of YesWeCarve.com, where you can show your support for Obama by way of carving a pumpkin. Pick a stencil, carve, and upload a photo of your masterpiece.

Update: Below is my own stencil design for the site.

Ooobama!
