What Halloween Should Be
These may be the best Halloween costumes I’ve seen. Bag full o’ cute. I vouch for the photo below first, but “Princess Leia and Jedi” comes in a close second.

We’ve been making lots of new election related artwork for our upcoming show in Geneva. This series will be part of the show. Each poster features an Obama quote with the core of the message highlighted.
We thought they’d be pretty cool on t-shirts too. You can get these over at the Hypermarket.

Dressing up for Halloween? Try this on.
A friend of mine just informed me of a new organization that is transforming a national obsession into a potential billion dollar humanitarian aid contribution. The site, CostumeStudio.com, exists with the goal of redirecting the money Americans spend on Halloween costumes toward the children of war-ravaged Uganda. It boasts, according to their press release, “one of the largest selections of costumes on the Internet at extremely competitive prices.” 100% of the income will be sent to the children of Uganda.
The project is a partnership between Seattle outfitter GoodSociety, home of a plethora of great eco- and socially-conscious fashion lines, and Invisible Children, a grassroots peace organization which focuses on the children victims of the war in northern Uganda.
If you’re buying a costume this year, please consider CostumeStudio.com.
Our favorite socially conscious slutty clothing line, American Apparel, has released a line of shirts in homage to Helvetica. I’ve always wanted to put on a pair of double D’s.
Man, all this red white and blue business on all the election graphics is getting a little old. This latest batch of tees throws the visual language of politics out the window. You can pick one up at the Hypermarket.
Ahh, it’s so easy to satisfy one’s vintage flight attendant fetish these days. Here’s another fantastic collection and a few samples below.
Leafing through our WIRED mag here at the studio, we came across a great article on the history of the ‘flight attendant’ or ’stewardess’, to some of us of olden times. These gals continue to invoke curiosity and wonderment of of that which is the unnaturally-fibered and go-go-booted ideal of fantasy femininity. Needless to say, this remains a favorite subject of at least one (ahem) design-minded Hyperaktivist here, who shall remain nameless. For now. Enjoy Deroy!
