Illustrating a year of chillwave
2010 saw the advent of the warmly hazy, '80's-nostalgia-imbued genre chillwave. By 2011, original chillwavers such as Washed Out, Toro y Moi, and Neon Indian were wrestling with the label. We were asked to create a timeline of chillwave's rising and falling fortunes during 2011 for SPIN's "Best of 2011". We also created two neon-galactic-party-in-space icons for Best Songs of the Year and an article on women authors writing about rock 'n' roll. Rainbows in space have never been so much fun!
