Deroy Peraza

Partner, Creative & Marketing Director

He/Him

A cheerleader, mentor, and motivator, Deroy Peraza leads Hyperakt with a whole lot of heart. Celebrated by his team for building trust, providing room to play, and sparking creativity with his infectious optimism, Deroy pushes both the studio and our clients to be bold. His passion for design as a tool for social change began while living in Barcelona and was fueled by the politics that separated him from his country of birth and extended family: the political extremes between communist Cuba and conservative Miami. He has spent the past two decades designing brands and digital experiences for some of the world’s leading nonprofits, foundations, and social impact initiatives.

Deroy was a professor at Parsons School of Design (his alma mater) for four years, and has given talks for Brand New, AIGA, Type Directors Club, and the UN Refugee Agency. He and his family reside in central Brooklyn, where they keep busy playing soccer, hosting goofy family-band concerts, and fostering empathy and creativity for the next generation.
